Catch an Animal
Each year at the Park County Fair the Park County Livestock Committee (PCLC) provides the youth of Park County the opportunity to win an animal that has been donated by generous sponsors from the community. The “Catch an Animal” contest gives contestants the opportunity to catch a calf, pig, goat, or lamb during Sunday’s Junior Rodeo. The winners then must join their local 4-H club and show that animal at the following year’s fair. The winners will be awarded their animals later in the year for steer and early the following spring for goats, pigs, and lambs. All contestants must read, sign, and follow the rules and also sign the waiver.
All winners of the Catch an Animal Program are to attend a MANDATORY meeting on the third Monday of October at the Shawnee Community Center at 6:00pm. Any winner who does not attend this meeting will forfeit their animal.
